In 2012, I founded Realtors 4 Rescues to rally the real estate community around a simple but powerful mission: get more landlords to say yes to pets and help keep animals out of shelters. But long before that, and for as long as I can remember, advocating for animals and their well-being has been a cause close to my heart.
Brooklyn is home to countless cherished pets and vibrant wildlife, all deserving of care, compassion, and respect.
My office would explore establishing a Furever Safe Fund to assist pet owners with emergency expenses, helping ensure their animals remain safe and healthy during challenging times. I would also focus on supporting local animal shelters and rescue organizations by advocating for resources to sustain their essential efforts.
Strengthening the enforcement of animal cruelty laws would be a priority, maintaining a firm stance against abuse and neglect to ensure no animal in our borough suffers. Additionally, I would consider initiatives to promote fostering, adoption, and responsible pet ownership through borough-wide adoption events, educational programs, and accessible spay/neuter clinics.
How we treat animals reflects our values as a community. My office would strive to make Brooklyn a model of compassion, ensuring the well-being of all its animals.
